DANIEL AHASIC
FIREFIGHTER AND PARAMEDIC WITH AURORA FIRE DEPARTMENT
Daniel Ahasic is an Aurora, Illinois-based firefighter and paramedic who leverages more than two decades of experience to provide emergency response services and medical care to his community. Beyond quickly and effectively analyzing hazardous situations to deliver appropriate reactions, his responsibilities include operating and maintaining fire equipment and facilities, participating in fire training drills, and promoting fire prevention awareness at local schools and organizations. He is also an arson investigator and a member of the Haz Mat Team. Daniel Ahasic has been with Aurora Fire Department for 18 years, during which time he has earned the Firefighter of the Year Award, among other distinctions.

Prior to joining Aurora Fire Department in 2004, Ahasic gained experience at DeKalb Fire Department, Darien-Woodridge Fire Department, and Sugar Grove Fire Department. He holds membership with the Illinois Fire Service Institute. In addition, he is a member of IAFF AFFI Local #99.
Daniel Ahasic worked three years as a concrete construction foreman at Tejada Construction before pursuing a career in firefighting. His primary responsibilities at Tejada included pouring concrete for new home builds and remodels, operating heavy machinery, and molding expansion joints and edges. Before this, he spent two years as a clerk at Refco and worked on the Chicago Board of Trade’s commodities trading room floor. Ahasic has additional experience managing a family-owned cleaning business and helped build a private golf course in Sugar Grove, Illinois, in high school.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Ahasic earned a bachelor of science in aviation from the school in 1995. He is a graduate of West Aurora High School and attended Marmion Military Academy. Outside of his professional pursuits, he is a supporter of the American Red Cross and enjoys hobbies such as woodworking, home remodeling, automobile restoration, fishing, and hunting.
